Brian Cox Rector's Installation
Earlier this year, University of Dundee students voted to make Brian Cox their University Rector and this evening was his formal installation at DUSA.
There was a video played which had recordings from past rectors like Stephen Fry, Lorraine Kelly, and Fred MacAulay all wishing Brian the best in his role and there were some fantastic moments in the clip especially from Stephen Fry and Lorraine Kelly. Perhaps it will be made available online on DUSA's website for others to see.
There was also live music and a student performance called the 'Brian Cox Experience', which packed every one of Brian’s movies into 4 minutes and that was simple brilliant too and you could tell the crowd and indeed Brian himself, enjoyed every minute of it.Finally, the evening rounded off with a free champagne reception where staff and students had the opportunity to meet Brian personally in the Air Bar, the queue formed very quickly and extended to the bar entrance.
Brian was a star as usual and the University (and the City!) are very lucky to have a man of such standing as their Rector.
